Hurricane season is here, and with Harvey slamming Texas and Irma on its way to Florida, we thought it was time to review past Florida hurricanes.
The List of Florida hurricanes encompasses approximately 488 tropical or subtropical cyclones that affected the state of Florida. More storms hit Florida than any other U.S. state, and since 1851 only eighteen hurricane seasons passed without a known storm impacting the state.
